Google Search tests removing the 100 results per page parameter

What’s happening

Google Search seems to be testing the removal of the 100 results per page parameter (&num=100). For many users, adding this parameter to the search results URL no longer forces 100 results; for others, it still works. Behavior appears to vary by session and whether you’re signed in or signed out, which suggests this is an experiment.

Why it matters

  • Rank tracking tools that rely on &num=100 may show inconsistent or incomplete data.
  • SEOs who scan 100 results on one page may need to adapt their workflows.
  • If this ships broadly, pagination and scraping strategies that assume 100 results per page will need updating.

Temporary change at Autom.dev

Due to this experiment, Autom has temporarily deprecated the num argument in our Google Search endpoints. We will reinstate it - or provide an alternative - once Google’s behavior stabilizes.
